Dictate: Microsoft has expanded the Office-Apps with voice recognition.

The free Add-in is a Microsoft Garage Project. It is based on artifical intelligence and on the voice recognition technology from Microsoft Cortana. Dictate supports 20 languages - also German. The dictate function currently only supports the rules of punctuation in English.

Office 2013 and newer and at least .Net Framework 4.5.0 are needed. After the installation an additional tab „Dictation“ is shown in Word, PowerPoint and Outlook. Also see e.g. ZDNET.de

You want to buy a new computer or are thinking about more memory ? Then please keep in mind that memory chips aren't that expensive anymore and you should have at least 4 GB RAM (working memory) for a 64-bit version (Windows 7 or Windows 10).
Furthermore you should know that nowadays notebooks deliver enough performance (and also bring further advantages with them).
